Character
Name: Luso Clemens
Series: Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimore of the Rift.
Timeline: Just before 'The Ritual'. For those of you not up on the FFTA:2 canon, that's the final mission before you beat the game and he can return home.
Canon Resource Links: The FF Wiki, on Luso.

Personality: Luso Clemens is a strange breed of protaganist - strange in how he acts when sent to Ivalice, without a clear way home (well, he's told he has to fill up his magical book somehow but whatever). Unlike most protaganists in his position... such as Marche from the first game... he doesn't seem to show any worry about being stuck in a strange new world. Instead, he just sees it as something fun, most of the time. Of course, he isn't somebody who's brave and fearless about everything. He's terrified of ghosts for one, and he does show fear towards the evil clan he's forced to battle with. He can also get angry, and doesn't stay level-headed thoughout all of his canon.

But when he's not acting terrified or angry, which is most of the time, he's a cheerful guy who just wants to see the world. He's willing to take over Clan Gully when Cid is shot by a ninja and help people in need, seeing as he's such a kind person. But being a newcomer to Ivalice (and Johto, when he arrives), he starts off not very sure of himself. His self-confidence grows during his stay in said Ivalice - and at the canon point I'm taking him from, his main worry is not being able to stop Illua from finishing her Grimore and destroying the world, but it'll be down a bit when he arrives in Johto, due to not understanding the social and other norms of the world.

He's also very... hasty. He doesn't think his actions though, and that gets him into a lot of trouble. He leaves his clan in the dust more then once, making them catch up to his Earth-like way of thinking. His hastiness and lack of thinking also started this whole journey, seeing as that's how he ended up writing his name in the Grimore and went to Ivalice.

He is dedicated to his friends and clan-mates, though. For example, when he confronts Adelle after she's been brainwashed, he refuses to give up, even after she keeps on hitting him (with a weapon and all) and trying to injure him. And even though he knows he'll be leaving Ivalice as soon as his Grimore fills, he can't help but help people like Hurdy gather loot for his instruments, or help Vaan and Penelo defeat their imposters or the like. Whenever he can, though, he makes sure his clan mates know he's going to leave eventually, and they're okay with this.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ He knows how to camp out, and live out without technology or anything natural to keep him warm.
+ Yeah, he's not going to be scared about being in a jamjar. So he won't be the kind to complain all the time looking at you Marche
+ He's strong and capable of looking after himself - well, the parts which are like 'he knows not to eat weird berries', 'don't make a monster angry' and the like.
+ Speaking of monsters, he most likely won't be scared of whatever Pokemon end up doing. He's used to being ambushed, he's used to befriending monsters (since it seems to be canon that he becomes a monster hunter sometime during his stay in Ivalice, or at least in his cameo in FFT) and the like.
+ He's also good at hand-to-hand combat. Well, he's good with all sorts of weapons, but he can protect himself from monsters such as wild Pokemon, even if his Pokemon was to faint.

- Terrified of ghosts - he can barely stand looking at them, even as he's beating them down. This will be a problem, both with Gastly on the early routes and against Morty.
- As mentioned in his personality section, he's very hasty. Which is not good.
- He also lacks that sense of danger most of us take for granted. So he won't be that good alone, because he WILL end up hurt somehow. We're just lucky that Johto offers the same protection as a judge, huh.
- Without a clan or somebody knowledgable in Pokemon, he'll feel pretty lost and take a bit to get used to this world. He got a bit used to Cid and Adelle telling him everything, okay? Of course, with Adelle there, she still won't know everything.

[The 'gear turned on to face a young guy, who... you know how most newbies looked concerned or panicked? Not Luso here. In fact, he's got a bit of a smile on his face, as he looks into the 'gear!]
Reading a bit of this book, all I've got to do is train myself and fight the eight gym leaders? And I don't even have to fight them myself, or follow any laws the Judges put down?

This is pretty cool! I should be getting back home to my aunt soon, though... I've been away for ages in one fantasy world, who knows how much she'll worry if I try and explain this away, too!

...Hey, while I'm here and talking, does anybody want to join Clan Gully? We could team up our Pokemon, and travel around doing missions for others and helping them - or at least battle others in a group, and level faster.
Third Person Sample: The cool breeze of Route 29 reminded Luso of home, his real home. He could be with his aunt right now, or with his friends... but, hey. He'd heard time at home was paused while here, so why couldn't he have some fun while he waited for a way home? Wandering along with only his Mawile was a little lonely, though. If this was Ivalice, he'd be able to talk to Cid, or Hurdy, or even Adelle - or, of course, his other clan mates But for now, it was just him and his strange creature with a mouth on its' head. If that thing didn't look so deadly, he might even label it a moogle-like creature, the way it smiled and could only say one word, over and over. But it wasn't. For one, it didn't kupo. Looking to his side-

-he saw it was gone, into the tall grass. Gasping, Luso ran in the direction of the beast. "Come on, Gully!" he called, looking for the beast. A few Pidgey and Ratatta fled, ignoring the slightly worried Luso - how odd. Even if it was a deadly creature who didn't attack many of the beasts out here, it was his clan member, and he needed to retrive it and get to the next city. Well, they weren't clans, were they? It was just one person leading them, and there were no missions involved. Unless the gym leaders were like those bosses, and the badges were the key home, like what he'd heard. But something about that just seemed... off. What sort of world has you collecting things to get back home? Luso had to collect memories to get out of Ivalice, but that was just part of how the Grimore seemed to guide him and help create a pretty cool adventure. As he pondered this, he caught a glimpse of the second mouth of Gully the Mawile - just the very top. Approaching with a smile, he got closer and closer, until he could see his partner sitting in front of him...

But what he saw, he didn't expect. It was Gully, but... the Mawile was gripping onto a Ratatta in her large, second mouth, a bit of blood dripping from her maw. And as Luso watched on in horror and was about to try and save the rat-like Pokemon, she swallowed it whole, before giving Luso a cheeky grin.
"Hey! You're not meant to eat them!" Luso said, recalling the Mawile. "I could have caught that... and gotten a Pokemon who could attack more then just the Hoppip on this Route."

Level Five
Ability: Cursed Body (May disable a move used on the Pokémon.)
Item: None
Personality/History:Moveset:
Frillish is cheerful and derpy, and doesn't
understand why sobbu Luso doesn't like her.
She's just his starter, and as such, doesn't know
much about the outsides of the world. However,
she is curious, and that's why she's sticking with
Luso.
